In order to use this website, you must own a Canada Life individual life, living benefit, individual variable insurance, guaranteed investment option, or annuity product, or have an account with Quadrus Investment Services Ltd (“Quadrus”), and you must have reached the minimum prescribed age to contract for products and services in the jurisdiction in which you are a resident.

You may not misuse this website in any way, which includes but is not limited to:

• Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of any system or associated network.
• Breaching or otherwise circumventing any security or authentication measures.
• Accessing, tampering with, or using non-public areas or parts of this website, or shared areas of this website to which you haven’t been invited.
• Interfering with, degrading the performance of, or disrupting any user, host, or network.
• Intentionally sending a virus or a corrupt file, Trojan horse or worm; or other activity with the intent to overload, flood, or spam any part of the services.

You agree that the web pages you access are the same as signed documents on paper. This means that when you follow online instructions and click or otherwise electronically activate “accept”, “save”, “submit”, “continue”, “ok” or any other similar icons on any screen, except as otherwise specifically indicated, these carry the same legal effect as if you’d signed and delivered hard copy versions of the documents to Canada Life or Quadrus.

Your responsibility

You agree to be liable for all uses of your Electronic Signature. You acknowledge that Canada Life and Quadrus aren’t required to verify the actual identity or authority of any user of your Electronic Signature. You further agree to be liable for any loss caused as a result of or in connection with, any authorized or unauthorized use of your Electronic Signature. This includes any transaction performed, or information obtained through such use, even without your knowledge or consent.

You agree to take appropriate security measures to protect the confidentiality of your Electronic Signature and to guard against misuse of your information. Security measures include all of the following:

• Your password must be kept confidential; do not share it with anyone and take precautions that no one can see your login information when logging in.
• Do not create a password that would be obvious or easy to guess (e.g., '12345' or 'password').
• Memorize your password. If you must record it on paper, keep it in a safe location and do not store your email address and password together.
• Change your password from time to time.
• Do not leave your computer or other electronic device unattended when you are logged in. Always sign off if you are going to be away from your computer or other electronic device, even for short periods of time.

You agree to notify Canada Life immediately if the confidentiality of your user ID or password is compromised or if there’s been unauthorized use of your Electronic Signature.

Email is not encrypted; therefore, it is not recommended that you send any personal or confidential information to Canada Life or any third-party by email (e.g. password, claims information). 

Personal information

Canada Life, or Quadrus, as applicable, will establish a confidential file that contains personal information, including any personal information you submit to this website, financial, health or otherwise, for the purposes of:

• Administering and servicing the products you have with Canada Life.
• Providing illustrations and recommendations regarding your plans and policies held with Canada Life and third-party providers and your financial security in general.
• Advising you of products and services available by Canada Life and its partners, to help you plan for financial security.
• Processing any forms and actions throughout this platform.
• Internal data management and analytics purposes.
• Investigating claims.
• Paying benefits.
• Creating and maintaining records concerning our relationship as appropriate.
• Tracking your usage.
• Fulfilling such other purposes as are directly related to the preceding.

Canada Life and Quadrus limits access to personal information to their employees or persons authorized by them who require it to perform their duties, including service providers located within or outside Canada as required and to persons you have granted access. Personal information may also be subject to disclosure to government authorities or others authorized under applicable law within or outside Canada. You authorize and consent to us collecting, using, disclosing and retaining your personal information for the purposes outlined in these terms and conditions. This authorization and consent is given in accordance with applicable law and without limiting the authorizations and consents given elsewhere. Subject to legal and contractual restrictions, you may withdraw your consent to specific uses by going to the Profile section of this website or more generally by advising Canada Life or Quadrus in writing.

Your personal information, including but not limited to information held by Canada Life or Quadrus and information shared with third-party service providers for the purposes of this service, may be accessed by you outside of Canada, while adhering to Canadian privacy legislation. Your personal information may be stored on servers outside Canada. This information may also be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities of the jurisdiction where it is stored. All products and services are subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable contracts and laws. Canada Life products and services and those of third parties described on this website are available only in jurisdictions where they may be lawfully offered for sale in Canada.

You can exercise certain rights of access and rectification with respect to the personal information in your file by sending a request in writing to Canada Life or Quadrus.

Products and services on this website

Individual life, living benefit, variable insurance, guaranteed investment option, or annuity products as described in this website are issued by Canada Life. Mutual funds and other products are distributed through Quadrus. Where applicable, Quadrus acts as the agent for B2B Trustco.

All products and services are subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable contracts and laws. Canada Life products and services and those of third parties described on this website are available only in jurisdictions where they may be lawfully offered for sale in Canada.
